1970 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior
Opportunities to acquire an example as original as this GT Junior do not come around very often!
We were fortunate to discover this car in Sicily two years ago in lovely unrestored condition and showing just over 87,000 kilometres on the clock. Upon inspection, we immediately fell in love with its extraordinary originality, made all the more special by the best colour combination of Bluette over burgundy Skai interior. We brought the car back to the UK and placed it in the Alfaholics private collection.
Accompanying the car is the original Carta di Circolazione, as well as the original handbook (including noted key serial numbers) and the original service book, duly stamped at all the official service intervals. The car has never suffered any corrosion or damage and the panels are completely original with the factory spot-welds visible in all the correct places including the sills, drip rails and rear wheel arches. The body was partially re-painted a long time ago (although the roof is likely factory paint) and has aged well with a lovely patination which serves to enhance the character of this wonderfully original car.
All the light units and the chrome & stainless steel finishers are original, including the irreplaceable first-series Carello headlight units. The interior is original and the factory rubber floor mats have been preserved underneath the (classically period) Italian striped overmats which come with the car.
After purchase, the car underwent 50 hours in the Alfaholics workshops for a full mechanical check-over, which included replacing perishable items such as suspension bushes, coolant hoses and fuel hoses. We also fitted a new standard exhaust system.
The car has only been used sparingly over the past two years and has now covered just under 88,000kms. A lack of time to use it means that this wonderful car should now be enjoyed by a new owner!
